Clinical cases of the Idiopathic Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head an its etiological considerations

Abstract
|
|
|
We experienced 8 cases of the idiopathic avascular necrosis of the femoral head in the Orthopedic Department of Seoul National University during the period from October, 1968 to November, 1973 and it were reviewed with respect to their etiological factors.
We obtained the following clinical results:
1. 6 out of 8 were between the age of 37 and 63 years.
2 7 cases were male.
3. 4 cases were bilateral
4. There were 1 case of alcohol-induced and 1 case of steroid-induced avascular necrosis .of the femoral head.
In the remaining 6 cases, we could´nt find any etiological factors.
